ETHEREUM CLASSIC VISION – Technical Features

As explained in the previous article, Ethereum is currently experiencing many problems such as scaling, mining inefficiencies, data storage costs, and unfair reward distribution. These problems cannot be resolved in the short term. Plans for switching consensus to Proof-of-Stake algorithms, implementation of sharding, and payment protocols for the second layer are still not realized. For this reason, Ethereum Classic Vision (ETCV) will be present to create a truly decentralized economy that can be used for wider adoption of cryptocurrency payments and real applications from the blockchain. ETCV is an Ethereum hard fork that implements the Proof-of-Stake consensus algorithm to ensure energy efficiency, a safe level of security, and fair reward distribution.
This article will specifically explain briefly about the solutions, advantages, and implementation plans offered by ETCV.
1. VisionDEX
VisionDEX is the first product of Ethereum Classic Vision which is an exchange of decentralized P2P cryptocurrency. VisionDEX gives users complete control of their assets, safeguards user assets from hackers, and protects users from the bad possibilities that occur in centralized exchanges.
On VisonDEX, asset exchanges, order matching, and order book handling will be carried out using a smart contract that functions as a multisig escrow. VisionDEX will support ETCV, ETH, ETC, ERC-20 tokens, BTC, BCH, XLM, digital assets of ETCV dApp, and more. VisionDEX can also be used as a platform to carry out fundraising for the blockchain startup and ICO.
In the future, VisionDEX plans to introduce a variety of market tools, such as margin trading, stop-loss limits, limit orders, and derivative trading.
2. dApp Development
ETCV introduces its own sub-platform to develop dApp with a variety of tools provided for free, including sidechain development kits, smart contract databases, plug-and-play applications, and modules. ETCV will support Ethereum Virtual Machine, Solidity, and other popular languages, such as JavaScript, Vyper and Red.
In the future, ETCV will introduce a comprehensive set of features for users who don’t have programming skills, introduce sidechains for hosting individual dApps, support for mobile smart contracts, and add dApps migration options from EOS, NEO, and Lisk.
3. Sharding
ETCV will implement the sharding method by introducing a special beacon sidechain that serves to select the validator for each shard. By implementing sharding, ETCV will increase capacity to 10,000 TPS with 100 fractions in the system.
4. InterPlanetary File System (IPFS) Integration
IPFS is a decentralized data storage that connects all users in the network to rent unused hard drive space, whether on average laptops, home computers, or mining farm. Every large file stored on the system is sharded, with each shard receiving a unique cryptographic hash. All hashes are stored in a table and updated automatically every time a new file enters the system. Every fraction of each file is stored in many copies by many users. IPFS implementation will provide lower storage costs than traditional cloud storage and download speeds will be quite high.
ETH network Snapshot
ETH network snapshot will be conducted on 11 January 2019 at 20:00 GMT. Everyone who holds ETH in his personal wallet when a snapshot (not before or after) will receive an ETCV with a 3: 1 ratio.
Note: You will not get ETCV if you hold ETH in an exchange wallet
